Teaching Internship

In Spring of 2011, I studied abroad with the University of Georgia’s Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. There I had the opportunity to student teach in a 6th grade English/Art class at La Scuola Primaria G. Mancini di Cortona, in Cortona and as well as a middle school in Camucia, Italy. The following lesson is a sample of a unit on American and Italian comic books. Students created a cartoon character that was a hybrid of an American and Italian food. Students then created comic books with English conversation and narration.
I also participated in assisting other Art Education students teaching art in Italian to elementary grade levels in Cortona. Here, I worked on a papermaking workshop with 3rd graders with the primary language of instruction in Italian. |
